A Tribute

In Loving Memory of Rilwan Quadri

A Tragic Hate Crime

I was in my office on that fateful day tending to my client’s mental health and completely unprepared for the call that would change my life forever. A mother’s worst nightmare. My son Rilwan had been missing for three days. Searching the internet, my daughter stumbles on a news media post displaying a mugshot with the caption, “Accused charged with the murder of Ron Quadri who was found dead inside a car.”

This article about my son’s brutal murder had gone viral as social media feasted on yet another tragedy, spreading misinformation and salivating on the blood spilled corpse of yet another Black man. Homicide police determined that my son had been a victim of a hate crime however, there was another insidious twist to this tragedy; it was the indifference and lack of empathy I received from the very community I had served for twenty-five years.  Hate crimes in San Antonio is at an all-time high and more needs to be done to raise awareness about the systematic violence against Blacks in San Antonio. Instead, the very institutions charged with criminal justice displayed their incompetence, making the excuse that they are overwhelmed with shooting deaths and cannot keep up with overcrowded jails.

America Bleeds Racism

In my mind, hate crime is simply an offshoot of a deeply entrenched systemic racism that pervades American culture, and this problem continues to be the most important issue in the United States. Slavery was America’s “original sin.” It was not solved by the framers of the U.S. Constitution, nor was it resolved by the horrendous conflict that was of the American Civil War. It simply changed its odious form and continued the generational enslavement of an entire strata of American society. In turn, the Civil Rights Movement struck a mighty blow against racism in America, and our souls soared when Dr. King told us he had a dream. But we were and still are far from the “promised land.” And even when America rose up to elect its first Black President, Barack Obama, we may indeed have lost ground as a collective nation along the way.

That is our legacy as Americans, and in many ways has remained the most hateful remnant of slavery persisting in the U.S. in the form of systemic racism baked into nearly every aspect of our society. Indeed, for those tracing their heritage to countries outside of Western Europe, or for those with a non-Christian belief system, that undeniable truth often impacts every aspect of who you are as a person, in one form or another.

An Imperative Call For Justice

I can only hope that my son will receive justice in a racially biased judicial system but will seek solace in Gods promise to avenge the wicked and deliver justice for 400 years of brutality, murder, and genocide. I celebrate the unrelenting efforts of freedom fighters who maintain their faith in the ultimate justice but never renege in their resolve to defend the rights of the innocent.

Despite the fake facade of an inclusive America, one can only see the growing rhetoric hidden in plain sight of a people filled with hate. A disease with global proportions, racism maintains a hierarchy of a caste system entrenched in the minds of humanity and impossible to escape. As a Black person in this country, I contemplated the reasons for the intense hate of Black people and came to the audacious conclusion that there are deep spiritual connections dating back to biblical times. This hate is imbedded in the DNA of people and can only be healed by divine intervention.

In the heels of a war between good and evil, Rilwan came from another reality of highly evolved beings. He is a strategist and an informant for the forces of light. He infiltrated the evil establishments and extracted all that was needed to be revealed. Evil has not won but instead over played its hands and exposed itself. In the coming months, all that has been hidden from humanity will be revealed igniting unity and justice for the disenfranchised and a restoration by the forces of light.

Reflections On Death

My son reflects to me on the other side that he felt nothing as the bullets hit him in the back. He had left his body and felt no pain. The heavens opened to him immediately, and he saw angels and ancient relatives extend their hands to receive him. He tells me he simply stepped into heaven, a place full of love and relieved to finally get to doing the things he has always wanted- support souls in need and prepare for the global relief of Gods children.

My son is guiltless, he did not die because he is immortal. You will see that he is redeemed and has never been separated from God. None of us were ever separated in the first place.  In this understanding lies the remembering, for it is the recognition of love without fear. There is great joy in Heaven on his homecoming for the redeemed son of man is the guiltless Son of God and to recognize him in each other lies our redemption.

Christ Vision is The Holy Spirit's Gift

Christ vision is the Holy Spirit’s gift, God’s alternative to the illusion of separation and to the belief in the reality of sin, guilt and death. It is the one correction for all errors of perception; the reconciliation of the seeming opposites on which this world is based. Its kindly light shows all things from another point of view, reflecting the thought system that arises from knowledge and making return to God not only possible but inevitable. ACIM 1976.

The time is near I pray, that the light of God be revealed in the innocent, that we are rescued from the hands of the wicked and freed from the clutches of hate.
