Programmed To Fight

There is an ancient genetic programming within all living species that is based on individual survival without which there would probably be no humans or living organisms walking on earth today. This has been a very dark place for all life forms because it represents a primal energy whose main instinct when threatened is aggression.

In animals, this natural ferocity is embodied in the behavior of a mother when her cubs are threatened. As this aspect of DNA developed in human beings, it became the foundation of the evolutionary law of the survival of the fittest, which has also become deeply connected to individual health and wellbeing.

The fear of annihilation and the need for survival is deeply imbedded in the collective energy field of humanity, and it is particularly strong when certain groups of human beings are threatened by other groups, manifesting strongly through its aggressive reactive side. Humanity likes and needs a fight, and the nature of this fight is dependent upon its frequency. At a low frequency, people/nations fight with others, with itself or with life itself and this behavior is very disempowering, both for the fighter and for anyone else who happens to get locked into the combat.

History has shown that many great wars have been fought because certain individuals in positions of power reacted aggressively to another individual or tribe based on a personal agenda. Governments and leaders operating at a low frequency do not think when they feel in any way threatened, they react by simply digging their teeth into someone or something and not letting go until that someone or something gives way. At a low frequency this always causes some kind of destruction.

A Fight For A Higher Destiny

History will come to judge a good fight by its nature and purpose. We have only to find the right fight, and our whole experience with human evolution changes. As we pour our heart, body and soul into a fulfilling fight, it ceases to be a struggle. Here we learn the difference between meeting obstacles and fighting resistance. Resistance is what occurs when we are pushing against the universal flow and is a hallmark of all our negative and unhealthy states.

Obstacles, however, are natural to the rhythm of life. Obstacles test our commitment, allowing us to forge new skills and hone our excellence. Obstacles are always gifts in disguise. Those who persevere under pressure are designed for obstacles —they are the underdogs — in fact they love the challenge. Every obstacle is a wonderful and vital opportunity to feel more alive and to fulfill their higher destiny.

The Indominable Spirit Of The Underdog

The underdog possesses the gift of perseverance. They thrive when they are up against the odds. They make the impossible look effortless, even whilst exerting themselves fully. They are extremely active and physical. They have a genetic need to push their bodies and love being right in the thick of the action.

These are people of action. The only trick for them is to know when to act and when not to act and this is where the skill of perseverance comes into play. They know when to hold their energy back. In other words, these are people who have learned to draw a breath before they rush into some new action. This breath is not so that they can think — it is simply to make sure they are responding from truth rather than reacting from fear or anger. They are linked with the archetype of the warrior. In the modern world, the path of the warrior is not what it used to be. All kinds of new domains have appeared where these warriors fight. There are warriors in the business world, warriors in government and education as well as in the sciences and arts.

Wherever there is a fight for a higher purpose especially against insurmountable odds, there you will find the underdog stretching itself to its limits. Where others are fighting out of fear, and usually for survival, the underdog fights for love.

As humanity continues to create more challenges out of an impulse for survival, the underdogs will rise and fulfill the biblical scripture —

“The meek shall inherit the earth.” Mattew 5:5
